This was apparently repeated offending by Mr Lewis albeit in the face of hostility, but you have to rise above this stuff. Please also do not forget that:

"The only charge found unproven was that Lewis acted without integrity when he sent an offensive message to the son of an acquaintance on Facebook. The tribunal accepted in that case that Lewis, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was on a course of strong medication at the time, had entered into a ‘dream-like state’ and could not remember what he had posted. He subsequently made repeated efforts to apologise to the person he messaged".

In other words, he seems to have accepted doing something out of line on his Facebook account but can not recall it and was on medication at the time. Then raced around trying to apologise for it.

Until the decision is published I will reserve my position as to whether this matter could or should have been dealt with by a reprimand as opposed to referral to the SDT but even from the limited information published by the Gazette, I am struggling to find much sympathy for the guy either way. That does not mean I am some sort of racist apologist or anti Semite. I am neither.

The sanction is hardly eye watering - at the lowest level of offending. Mr Lewis should pay it and move on.
