I agree wholeheartedly with anon 10/01/19 @21.54. This case is extremely worrying. Why would this young man knowingly take the risk for no personal benefit? It makes no sense whatsoever. Will the banks be paying back the interest paid on the mortgages that were obtained? Of course they won’t. It seems like the banks and the actual criminals are the only winners in this sad tale.
This is a very worrying conviction and a ridiculously harsh sentence. Property solicitors beware. I too hope the law society look at this case fairly.
