@ Sarah Charlton

It's not about Day's motives or whether anyone could morally support them. Quite obviously at least one of his motives was to make money from giving legal advice. Probably everyone on this forum is doing the same thing today and is perfectly entitled to do so.

What it is about though, is the right of anyone to seek justice from the UK courts against the UK gov't when the UK gov't or its servants have deliberately or negligently done them wrong. It is telling that 300 odd Claimants have already been compensated.

If Day or his firm breached the rules in obtaining those claims or if they were wrongly pursued, then there are mechanisms within the SRA and in the court process for dealing with those issues and compensating the gov't and individual soldiers for the wrong done against them. Fair process is essential - for both sides.

Lightweight politicians, with no clue what they're talking about, trying to get attention for themselves with shrill sound bites about a serious issue does no one any favours.
