Having been in private practice for 23 years now mostly as a FILEx, I really don't see the difference in my sphere between the two branches. As has been said before its about ability end of. I am also a law graduate and costs, rarity of training contract etc put me off the traditional qualification route. hasn't made the slightest difference to my career and neither should it if I can do the job better than most in the first place. Currently a lot of law graduates go down the ILEX route because of costs etc Does not mean they are any less of a lawyer because of that or because their background doesn't fit. That's why ILEX is more diverse. It isn't an old boys club or dependent on your parents savings etc
