Chris - the problem that a judge faces is this. You've have a week when you'd love to pot some of the scumsters in front of you, but defence counsels have droolingly referred you to guidelines from the Court of Appeal saying that the appropriate penalty is a community order.

You are then confronted by some pretty harmless (did she rob or stab anyone?) defendant of the tree hugging ilk. Can you pot her and sleep at night. I know that I would struggle to do so.
