Fictional example of the problems caused by the slash and burn approach of this Government: -

I am a witness of modest means living in a rural area of Wales. I am a key witness in a minor road traffic offence that the CPS won't bin.

I have attended my local court twice to give evidence but on each occasion the trial could not go ahead.

First time around the court office had not sent the adjournment notice to the correct address and the court could not be satisfied the Defendant knew of the trial date.

The 2nd time the court ran out of time due to two domestic violence cases being listed and given priority. Understandably.

I put my loss of earnings in and claim for expenses. Sometime later it was paid at a much reduced rate and it cost me money to carry out my public duty. Or attempt to.

The court hearing the case has closed and they have moved it further away. I do not not drive so need to get two buses and walk to get to court for 9.30am. This means leaving at 8am but I need to drop the kids off at school at 8.45am.

So I think I wont bother going.

Unless I can have Lord Keen's mobile and call him for a lift? Or does he have an App for such things?
