Vincent, you are right. there should be system of support for LiP's who cannot afford representation.

Clearly that system should allow those LiP's access to qualified representation and funding.

It should not force "impoverished litigants" to obtain advice from an unqualified 'commercial' MF. Who, will give helping out a go, for a lesser fee.

I will also say, I find your remarks regarding vested interests crass and unnecessary. You may believe that you help out of altruism. But the reality is you likely also have (not dissimilar) vested interests. But unlike you and your ilk, our interests are supported by qualifications and experienced that will and does exceed your own, in this field.

To put it another way. People who cannot afford gas engineers, but who have a gas leak, should not be forced to rely upon the paper boy/girl for help. However well-intentioned that paper boy/girl may be. If they are, then the system needs reform. Not to structure the access or advice that paper boy or girl can provide. But to ensure adequate funded access to a gas engineer.
