Having just seen at close hand the barbarity of the attacks on Muslims in the Christchurch mosques, it is an appalling travesty to read of this attack on human rights. Islam is a peaceful religion abused by fanatics and translated into repression through Sharia law, just as Christianity preaches peace despite abuses carried out in the name of Christianity over many centuries. Those promoting human rights deserve the support and protection of all who value equality. Iran seeks support for its oil exports in the face of the USA embargo - perhaps European politicians will suggest some social and human rights changes as part of the price of their support for Iran?
