I have often wondered about how the Land Registry sources its staff, and the qualifications and skills of the people working there.
Sometimes with the requisitions one receives you feel it is pot luck as to the identity of the person who picks up the application. No one person ever seems to look upon applications the same as another. Frightening inconsistency, and if you actually require help and assistance don't bother. I think their handbook was written by the same Government official who wrote the one for HMRC, and was designed to baffle everybody with gobbledegook.
So I do think there is an element of pots and kettles here. Surely Solicitors and the Land Registry should be working from the same page? At the moment it is hard to have too much confidence in them when they are approaching everything from such a confrontational position?
