I volunteer at a Law Centre. When it is advertised that a housing law solicitor will be in attendance, then the queues are very long. Often they have to wait hours to see me and the other housing volunteers because of the sheer number of people that need help.

They have often tried, and failed, to find a local firm who could help them. It makes my blood boil that people with urgent and serious cases are faced with such difficulties.

Many things in life are unpleasant, but being homeless, unlawfully evicted, harassed by a private landlord or suffering from the anti-social behaviour of neighbours is at the top of the list.
