Global law firm Baker McKenzie has promoted 80 of its lawyers to partner, including five in London.

Of the new promotions, 31 (39%) are women. The latest round of promotions brings the total number of partners around the world to nearly 1,600. More than 400 of these are women - the most of any law firm in the world.

The five London lawyers are Susie Davies, who focuses on corporate law; employment law specialist Kim Sartin; international commerce and trade lawyer Jennifer Revis;  financial services expert Mark Simpson; and Ben Farnell, who concentrates on real estate.

Alex Chadwick, London managing partner said: 'Susie, Jenny, Kim, Mark and Ben have played an instrumental role in their practice areas and the firm, and I am delighted that they are joining the partnership. These appointments are a reflection of our growth plans and our client offerings in the transactional space and across the business.’

Paul Rawlinson, the firm’s global chair, added: 'As always, I am pleased that we have a good proportion of women joining the partnership which is reflective of our focus on diversity and inclusion activities across the firm.’

The promotions are effective from July 1.
