The connections to 'Doctor Who' continue to flood in. Simon Pedley, a litigation partner at Manchester firm Pannone, writes in to say that a message from the Doctor has pride of place on the wall in his office. There's no need to call for the men in white coats, however. A few months ago, members of Mr Pedley's team spotted actor Christopher Eccleston sitting in a café opposite the firm's offices. They approached the ninth incarnation of the Doctor and said that if he signed a note for Mr Pedley, a fan, they would all receive a pay rise. The note, which includes the exhortation 'pay up', has been laminated and now hangs on the wall. 'No pay rises have been given to them for doing this,' reports Mr Pedley, 'but I have noted their use of initiative and I am watching their careers with interest.' But will this lack of hard cash see a return visit of the Tardis?
