A sprinkle of stardust descended on last Thursday’s boisterous and extremely well-attended (recession, what recession?) Law Society Excellence Awards at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London. No, not in the person of the BBC broadcaster Mishal Husain, who conducted proceedings with consummate aplomb. An even brighter star was present, the polymath TV presenter, journalist and famous chum of George Clooney, Mariella Frostrup – memorably dubbed by the Daily Mirror as the ‘sexiest voice in broadcasting’. Frostrup is married to the human rights lawyer Jason McCue (they are pictured). McCue, as if he were not blessed enough, walked off with the private practice solicitor of the year gong. His glass, as you will observe, is definitely more than half full.
