More hot news on the baby front from Southport-based Barnetts, the high volume conveyancing and personal injury firm. Readers may recall that we nominated the firm as a contender for the least interesting press release of the year award, with its stellar entry about its finance manager celebrating her tenth year with the firm and the fact that she was off to have a baby. Barnetts then gamely sent us 'more exciting news' with a photo of Tracy and her daughter Chloe.
Now it has got in touch to hail 'its own mini baby boom' - apparently the firm 'has seen almost 20 staff fall pregnant or become parents'. As Andrea Parry, human resources director, who - inevitably - 'recently returned to work after having Emily', says, 'there must be something in the water at Barnetts.'
There then followed a lengthy list of staff returning to work including 'new doting dads Lee McDermott and Daniel Brown'. Perhaps Dominique de Villepin, the French prime minister who recently announced a range of incentives to improve the country's birth rate, should ask the firm to act in an advisory capacity.
