As members of the International Olympic Committee's inspection team descended on the capital last week, City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner was doing its bit to bring the games to this country for the first time since 1948. Aside from being a corporate 'champion' of the bid, the firm had the logo projected against its Thames-side headquarters, Adelaide House, during the week, which certainly vindicated the firm's recent decision to stay put (see [2005] Gazette, 20 January, 12). Other iconic buildings lit up by the London 2012 logo included Somerset House, the Tower of London and Tate Modern.
