Who can resist a press release that begins: 'Empty car parks, sweaty lawyers and a partner in a kayak....'? The partner in question is licensing specialist Tim Davies from the Bristol office of Bond Pearce, who was taking part in its recent 'Commute without pollute' day. The regional firm encouraged its staff to get to work in a more environmentally friendly way than simply hopping in their cars. More than 170 people took part - by walking, running, cycling and even water taxi - and saved more than 1,020 car miles. 'That's enough energy to make 40,000 cups of tea,' we are helpfully informed.
