Fans of St Trinian's, the anarchic girls' school, have London media and entertainment specialist Davenport Lyons to thank after it recently helped rescue the financing of the (apparently) 'much-anticipated' film. The movie - starring Colin Firth, Richard E Grant, Russell Brand and Rupert Everett - was under threat after the government 'without warning' banned GAAP schemes, which allowed investors to exploit losses resulting from film production. Davenport Lyons advised Investec on the rescue deal, which was the banking group's first foray into film financing. Non-fans also know who to blame.
