Obiter's New Year's resolution to move upmarket lasted, well, as long as most New Year's resolutions. But this week is different as we bring you news that an etching of the late Lord Goodman - founder of City firm Goodman Derrick, former chairman of the Arts Council and lawyer to Harold Wilson - by his client Lucien Freud will be up for grabs later this month. The image, 'Lord Goodman in his yellow pyjamas', has never been sold at auction before. The etching will go on sale on 28 June at Bloomsbury Auctions in London at an estimate of £30,000 to £35,000. Perhaps this can count as a fresh start for Obiter's cultural ambitions, but don't hold your breath.
