Practising solicitors are proving slow to grasp the business development opportunities offered by the internet, as this column somewhat didactically observed last month. The findings of this year’s Law Society Software Solutions Guide (see In Business) confirm what we know.
Some Gazette readers might be tempted to respond with the imperative ‘physician, heal thyself!’. And they would have a point. Until recently, the Gazette’s own website merely replicated the weekly print edition; though we hope its redesign has made the site more pleasing on the eye and easier to navigate.
We are glad to say that this is changing. From today, Lawgazette.co.uk will be updated on a daily basis, most significantly through the addition of Breaking News written by our expert reporters.
Wherever you work – in the high street, in the City, or in your own back bedroom – we will seek to keep you updated on the key substantive developments affecting your business. We are also moving to blog-style listings for SDT decisions and law reports, to make them more accessible and easier to navigate. And our new dedicated Moving On page is already proving a hit, with regular postings of the most significant legal hires. Also in the pipeline are blogs and a commenting function.
Across both media, print and online, we aim to bring you a comprehensive package that all practising solicitors truly value.
