Public relations is a dark and sometimes difficult art, and often requires considerable imagination. Witness this effort, received before Christmas from the Norwich office of Howes Percival - making a late run for the highly competitive 2005 'least-newsworthy press release of the year' award - which trumpets the rebranding of the commercial property team as the real estate team. And that's about it. The point (of both the rebrand and the press release) is to promote what is apparently the office's growing international property practice, which is all well and good, and you can just about see why they had a go by sending it out. Then they go and ruin it by over-gilding what was not much of a lily in the first place with this picture, taken outside of Norwich Airport, captioned simply: 'Michael Hynes (left) and Philip Hunter setting off on international business.'
