Here at Obiter Towers, we are always pleased to recognise those solicitors who go beyond the call of duty in pursuit of a public relations shot. So well done to Nicola Edwards, an associate solicitor with Cardiff firm Dolmans, for this fine effort following her appointment to the board of directors for Welsh Gymnastics in the voluntary role of legal director. Despite the look of some alarm on her face, this did not take the effort many of her desk-bound colleagues would have expended, because Ms Edwards is a former gymnast herself, having begun her competitive career in the sport at the tender age of nine and subsequently become a member of the Welsh squad. At 18, she qualified as a coach and judge, and went on to judge gymnastics at national level into the 1990s. Doubling up as a pommel horse is Matt Newman, chief executive of Welsh Gymnastics.
