Our hirsute lawyer of the week is Charles Jones, partner at Newcastle-under-Lyme firm Knight & Sons. Mr Jones agreed to shave off his beard - a permanent fixture on his face for the past 22 years - for charity. The results may have been a surprise to his three children, who had never seen him without facial hair. Mr Jones confesses to Obiter that 'the drop in temperature hasn't done me much good,' but on the upside the ex-beard raised around £1,000 for the Donna Louise Trust, which provides a children's hospice service for Staffordshire and south Cheshire.
