As regular readers will know, Obiter likes a good party as much as the next legal hack, so we were more than a touch excited to be invited to a book signing at the Groucho Club, the favoured hang-out of the media set. So imagine our slight disappointment to discover that the event - rather than being a sneak preview of the new Harry Potter - was to mark the publication of Tolley's Guide to the Charity Act 2006. Now, we have no doubt that the book by Jean-Paul da Costa and Helen Harvie (pictured) - a partner and associate respectively at south-east law firm Thomas Eggar - is a right riveting read, but we're not sure how much signed copies will be going for on eBay.
