We are thankful to Roger Turner, a solicitor-advocate in north London, for writing in to tell us that the hat worn by Alderney's Greffier, Sarah Kelly (pictured) (see [2005] Gazette, 5 May, 10), is in fact called a toque - not least because it gives us another excuse to include a picture of this distinctive headgear.
