More on the theme of the week, hats, and another entrant in the overblown PR stakes. In a release headed, naturally, 'Entrepreneur takes hat off to FC team', we are informed that the Derby office of Freeth Cartwright - sadly, for twentysomething pony-tailed brand consultants everywhere, no longer freethcartwright - has 'successfully completed the purchase of the local franchise of leading UK accessories outlet, Felicity Hat Hire.' There then follows what can only be described as an orgy of back-scratching, or hat-taking-off. Over to Deborah York, the new franchise owner, who gushed: 'It is difficult to find a law firm specialising in franchises and I was even more delighted when I was put in touch with two female solicitors at Freeth Carthwright who could appreciate the business I am in - hiring and selling beautiful hats to ladies for special occasions.' Then it was FC's Jenny Eades, who said: We have thoroughly enjoyed working on this transaction as visits to the client have been combined with drooling over the fantastic hats which you never come across in the High Street. On a personal level, I am confident I will never turn up to an event with the wrong hat ever again!' Huzzah!
