Following Obiter's recent thread on law firms with impressive family connections, Poole firm Perrins Stevenson proudly writes in to inform us that the son and daughter respectively of two of their partners have been given training contracts with the firm. Richard Perrins, son of George, and Katie Richards, daughter of Julie, have followed their parents' footsteps into the Dorset firm. They write: 'We wonder whether any other firms can boast such a double act, not only in number but also with such striking looks.' To keep Obiter from lying awake at night wondering, do write in and let us know if you can make such a boast.
Meanwhile, in Milton Keynes, employment lawyer Jane Liddington has found a superb way of keeping an eye on her son - she's set up her own firm with recently qualified Jamie, under the original name of Liddingtons. Ms Liddington joked: 'People often ask me what it's like to work with my son. We have clearly delineated areas of responsibility: Jamie makes the decisions about the day-to-day running of the office while I make important decisions such as what should be done about the ozone layer or whether the EU should be expanded.'
