Insult to injury
To the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers' (APIL) annual conference at the Celtic Manor hotel in sunny Newport, Wales, where three delegates were left, ahem, under-briefed. As hundreds of attendees snaffled the identical APIL-branded bags that were being given away, one of the unhappy trio stuffed his car keys in his and then lost sight of it - unfortunately, before unpacking their luggage from the car. Unable to pick out his freebie among the multitude, the trio were forced to endure the two-day conference luggage-less. The announcement at dinner requesting all guests to search their bags for a set of keys was greeted with much mirth but, Obiter understands, yielded nothing.
