Obiter’s informal census of solicitor judges has drawn a healthy response, confirming our feeling that the number is now high – especially on the district bench and on tribunals. Keith Martin, of Davies Partnership in St Agnes, Cornwall, says he’s not sure whether his role as a tribunal judge qualifies as being on the bench, but ‘at least it gets me out of the office from time to time’. He’d recommend it to any solicitor wanting to broaden their outlook. More verdicts, please.
