Following Obiter's recent report on his unrivalled tally of gold medals (see [2005] Gazette, 18 August, 14), Roy Romain has kindly sent in a picture of him (centre) as captain of the British swimming team at the 1948 Olympics. The former London solicitor also informs us that he has set his sights on the World Masters competition in Los Angeles in the summer of 2006. We will let you know how he gets on.
