It seems the daytime quiz show is becoming quite a fad among the legal profession. Not only has solicitor Leigh Petters recently appeared on 'Brainteaser' (see page 5), but Obiter also heard this week from another quiz contestant. Stoke-on-Trent solicitor Neil Colville from Walters & Plaskitt found himself facing the strictest of all the quiz hosts when he appeared on 'The Weakest Link' a few weeks ago. Sadly, the ?criminal law solicitor did not take home the £10,000 cash prize, only making it halfway through to the fifth round - but at least he ?wasn't quaking in his boots. He tells Obiter that Anne Robinson was 'a pussy cat' compared to appearing before the local district judge. Unfortunately, the dedicated lawyer missed the actual airing of the show because he was down the nick representing a client, but he was still cheered on by colleagues sitting round the office TV. The show also got top ratings in the local prison - Colville says he was spotted by some of his clients who were stunned to see their lawyer on the box.

So, has five minutes of fame whetted the solicitor's appetite for another TV appearance? Indeed it has. 'I'd like to do a few more quiz shows,' he says. 'Maybe I'll do talent show "The X-factor" next'. We can't wait.
