All those thirty-something lawyers who first went into the profession on the basis that it all looked so sexy and fun in the BBC's 'This Life' drama will be either thrilled or thrust into depression at the news that a one-off, ten-year anniversary episode is to be broadcast around the Christmas break. Yes, the Beeb is milking it for all it is worth with the new show preceded by retransmission of the original two series - that's 32 glorious instalments for those who never forgot the charms of Egg, Milly, Warren, Miles and Anna. Obiter was never a big fan - preferring to have a life, rather than spend hours in front of the box watching trainee lawyers trying to cop off with each other - but we do find this element of the new episode to be amusing: only one of the five main characters stays in the law. And that's Anna, the barrister who engaged in sexual congress with just about everyone to get work. Obviously it was worth it.
