All lawyers proclaim unswerving loyalty towards their clients but Michael Hynes, a solicitor at Norwich-based Howes Percival, may have set a new standard in relationship management following the firm's appointment to handle the UK and European real estate work for US document management company Iron Mountain. As you can see from the photo that accompanied the release, Mr Hynes drinks out of an Iron Mountain mug and has Iron Mountain stationary close at hand whenever he is on the phone to the Boston-based company. It is just as well he has a lot of shelving in his room as he will need ready access to the crockery and stationary of other clients, should they get on the blower. Mind you, he has a rival in the 'I understand your business' stakes. David Niven has just become strategic managing partner for a new transport team at the London office of Wedlake Saint. His choice of tie sends clients the subliminal message that they are dealing with a lawyer who loves the industry. Clever.
