More speedsters on the starting grid

The campaign to revive the dormant Law Society Motor Club has unearthed yet more speedy solicitors.

Simon Emmerson, a partner in the Basingstoke office of Penningtons, holds an MSA Race National A Licence and has entered this year's 750MC Formula 4 championship.

His Van Diemen RF95/96 Formula Renault, pictured above, is owned by Edginton Racing and can reach up to 145mph. In the first two rounds of the championship, which were held at Snetterton over the Easter weekend, Mr Emmerson came 11th and 12th - not bad, considering that fuel supply problems meant he qualified only in 18th place.

Also pictured is Paul Worthy of Yorkshire firm Hamers, a one-time member of the club, driving his 'current toy' - a Noble M12 GTO - 'on track looking worried'. A final reminder that the meeting about reforming the motor club will be held at the bar in the Law Society on 26 April at 6pm. For more information, contact Clive Lambert at clive.lambert@aplaw.co.uk
