No, this is not further evidence that legal aid cutbacks and the cut-throat conveyancing market have reduced solicitors to the point where they cannot afford to clothe themselves. Garry 'Mr February' Lucas of Loughton firm Lucas McMullan Jacobs (reclining) and Lloyd Green, senior partner of Chelmsford firm Lloyd Green and 'Mr October', are the latest to discard their suits and find a clever camera angle to retain a scrap of their dignity, all in the name of charity.

The pair admit to Obiter that they didn't require too much persuading to get involved in the charity calendar, entitled 'An ideal Jewish husband', which has so far raised around £10,000 for the Sinclair House Jewish Community Centre in Redbridge. In fact, Mr Green confesses that he fulfilled every man's dream by being invited into a strange woman's house with the words 'Come into the kitchen and take your clothes off'. Mr Lucas had little choice in the matter as his wife helped organise the project. Apparently she approves of the photo as well, which is a bonus.

Both men, however, report disgust on the part of their children. Perhaps another charity calendar to raise funds to pay for their therapy is in order.
