More hot solicitor action at this week's Open golf championship at the Royal Liverpool course. Philip Whitehurst, a corporate partner at north-west law firm DWF, will be 'hole controller' on the fourth hole throughout the four days of the tournament. Mr Whitehurst is no mean player himself, playing off scratch, and knows the course well - having sneaked on to the course with his grandfather to look for balls. He says he has £50 on Darren Clarke to win. If he's right, the Northern Irish golfer will collect the trophy from Andy Cross, a partner at Brabners Chaffe Street who - in his capacity as captain of Royal Liverpool - will hand the prize over to the winner come Sunday evening.
