Opportunity clocks: this striking image of the inside of a mechanical clock in Paris - taken by solicitor Abigail Young - was the winning entry in a quirky and praiseworthy competition run by national firm Cobbetts. The firm ran an internal art competition called 'It's what matters to you', to tie in with its affiliation with the Manchester International Festival (a client) and new office in the city. Partners, solicitors and staff were asked to submit photography and artwork depicting the things that matter most to them. Virginia Tandy, director of Manchester City Galleries, said: 'Abigail's entry was a classical piece which used strong contrasts, spectacular architecture and a witty play on words.' We're not entirely sure what that last bit means, but certainly the profession's relationship with clocks is, shall we say, well established.
