Piano man: Time for another foray into the world of musical solicitors - as opposed to solicitor musicals, which would be completely different.
A press release has landed on Obiter's desk from Andrew Sparrow, founder of Birmingham-based new media law firm Lecote Solicitors. Mr Sparrow has made a number of appearances on this august page, principally as a result of his daredevil exploits - including trekking across the Arctic, wing-walking and sticking his head out of a car being driven on two wheels.
Then there is his novel approach to legal PR. A particular gem was the time he persuaded the lawyer on the other side of a particular deal to appear 'inside the circle of trust', pictured with their respective clients holding hands in a ring.
But back to the music. Mr Sparrow has written and performed an album of original piano-based music, which he recorded at London's celebrated Sarm West Studios. The studios are owned by top producer Trevor Horn and have been the recording home at one time or another to the likes of Madonna, George Michael, Sir Paul McCartney and Coldplay. Indeed, it was where the original Band Aid single was recorded in 1984.
Mr Sparrow has written the music for the classical cross-over film and television market, and the good news is that he has already signed a deal with Hande Publishing, which focuses on this area of the music business. To listen, go to www.andrewsparrowmusic.co.uk.
