Former presidents of Hampshire Law Society have excelled themselves in their bid to raise funds for the Solicitors Benevolent Association (SBA) at the annual conference - in the past, they have done a parachute jump or arrived by canoe, on a bicycle or on foot. This year's president, Martin Tomsett, took a less physical but arguably more sophisticated approach by singing a couple of jazz standards at the gala dinner. Not only that, but he also sourced the backing band, Red Shift, which was ably led by his daughter Claire on saxophone. A grand total of £2,600 was raised for the participating charities, the SBA and Diversity Access.
