Another collision of lawyers and sport in the name of charity (and not the DWF sense reported below, happily) came at last month's Guinness Premiership rugby union final at Twickenham. For every decibel of noise made by the Sale Sharks' fans during the match against Leicester Tigers, their kit sponsors Betesh Fox, the well-known Manchester law firm, donated £10 to BASIC (Brain and Spinal Injury Charity). An official monitoring device at the stadium recorded an ear-piercing peak of 93 decibels as the Sharks won 45-20 (and thanks to the firm's press release for informing us that this meant £930 had been raised). The loudest moment of the match, coincidentally, was when England star Mark Cueto (above left) - who joined forces with managing partner Martin Coyne in promoting the initiative - scored the first try.
