Andrew Sparrow, founder of niche media firm Lecote Solicitors, has made a number of appearances in Obiter over the last couple of years - mainly for various daredevil stunts. Previous exploits that have propelled the Birmingham-based lawyer into this column include a 150-mile trek across the Arctic Circle and sticking his head out of a car being driven along on two wheels by a stuntman. This time, however, he gets in because of the bizarre photo that accompanied a press release about a deal he was involved in. The sale of the Practice Loan Company - a company that provides loan finance to law firms - sees Mr Sparrow standing on the right, for no immediately apparent reason, 'inside the circle of trust' made up by the sellers and purchasers of the business holding hands in a ring. While Obiter isn't sure whether this is a reference to the film 'Meet the Parents' and the sequel 'Meet the Fockers', where Ben Stiller seeks to convince his fiancee's parents and Robert De Niro in particular that he should be accepted into their 'circle of trust', it has decided that perhaps the oddest thing about the 'inside the circle of trust' photo call is that he managed to persuade the lawyer on the other side, Rutherfords' David Waterhouse, to join in. Also pictured making the circle from top clockwise are David Bowen, Kim Bowen (the sellers), Christopher Carmichael (purchaser), Roger Sivieri and Coralie Sivieri (purchasers).
