Role with it: for any readers out there with a secret desire to strut their stuff in front of more than just judge and jury, your chance has come. London's Tricycle Theatre is anxious for lawyers to join next week's auditions for its May production of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. The cast will be entirely comprised of solicitors, barristers and judges, with all proceeds going to the theatre's charitable project helping young people in Brent. Lawyers' offspring will also have their chance to shine - director Sally Knyvette is on the hunt for a young-looking 12-year-old girl to play Scout, and two boys of around 15. Ms Knyvette stresses that participants will need to commit to two evening rehearsals a week, though there are plenty of small parts available as well as starring roles. Solicitors may need to raise their game to compete with their barrister colleagues, however. The director admits that while most lawyers are 'natural actors', some are not quite as good as they think they are - and the solicitors' side of the profession can be 'a bit wooden'. Auditions will take place at the Tricycle Theatre on 2
February between 1pm to 6pm, and in the evenings on 4 and 5 February. Contact lawyers@tricycle.co.uk or tel 020 7372 6611 to book your audition slot.
