Soccer shocker: The next stop on our sporting tour is the Midlands. 'Solicitors are not exactly renowned for being shy and retiring - and one football-obsessed trainee at Higgs & Sons is certainly no exception to the rule,' a press release tells us. 'Richard Griffiths, who has been with Higgs for almost two years, has built a reputation for two things during his tenure at the firm: his love of Wolverhampton Wanderers and his love of the spotlight.'
The release goes on to explain how Mr Griffiths has combined these two passions - by appearing on Sky Sports' 'Soccer AM' programme as one of the 'fans of the week'. 'Richard, resplendent in his Wolves kit, was picked to sashay up and down the catwalk accompanied by the presenter (Tim Lovejoy) and a female fan known as a "soccerette"' (whatever that is).
Perhaps more exciting still - and another first for Obiter - it appears that, such was Mr Griffiths' love for the club, he even had a spell as Wolfie, its mascot.
If you or a solicitor you know held such a prestigious role, get in touch at gazette-editorial@lawsociety.org.uk.
