One of Obiter's most popular competitions in recent times profiled lawyers and their vehicles. Harry Sherrard, an employment law specialist who works out of offices in Haywards Heath and Heathrow, has now set a benchmark in terms of the number of vehicles owned by a solicitor. In his (presumably rather large) garage, Mr Sherrard's competition vehicles alone include a Porsche, a Fiesta Stockhatch rallycross car, a Land Rover and a Crosslé sports car - not to mention a Ducati 750 Supersport motorcycle and a KTM 250 dirt bike. These do not gather dust, however, and are all put to good use in competitions. Mr Sherrard cut the mustard in the Crosslé this summer, winning a Historic Sports 2000 event in Dijon, France. He also drove the Porsche at a famous German circuit, the Nurburgring, and rode the Ducati at 130mph round the Jerez track in Spain on a windy day - perhaps putting in a claim to be the fastest solicitor on two or four wheels. To cap it all, he's even a distant cousin of former Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine. But can you do better? Email: gazette-editorial@lawsociety.org.uk.
