It looks as though the normally reasonable world of mediation could be in need of a bit of, er, mediation. 'Embattled CEDR faces stiff competition' thunders the press release that lands on Obiter's desk, informing us that rival services ACI and In Place of Strife are to join forces 'in a move that will pose a serious threat to the CEDR model'. Miaow. A spokesman for CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) - sounding remarkably unembattled - bounced back by saying that it is good for it 'to be the standard by which other providers measure themselves'. Does anyone know a good mediator who would be willing to sort out this little spat?
