As wise old Obiter always suspected, Manchester solicitor Andy Booth, who plays in ‘European electro goth’ band the Cassandra Complex, is not the only rock-tastic lawyer out there, and we have photographic evidence to prove it (right). Paul ‘The Rock’ Rosser, personal injury partner at Leo Abse & Cohen in Cardiff, plays in a number of rock bands, including AC/DC tribute outfit High Voltage and a beat combo called Position Impossible. Is that rude?
Obiter’s informant tells us that Rosser once came close to genuine rock stardom, having played as a young lad in a band with Stereophonics lead singer Kelly Jones (they both come from the same village, Cwmaman near Aberdare).
When Rosser went off to Bristol University, the Stereophonics were formed. Was that bad timing for Rosser, or good timing for the Stereophonics? Rosser can, of course, console himself with this thought: if I had become an international indie-rock sensation, I might have missed out on practising as a solicitor.
