Our competition on the IT pages for lawyers' embarrassing mobile-related moments turned up two things - first, that lawyers are wise enough not to email us anything truly horrific and second, that perhaps they should get out a bit more. But the winner of a Griffin iKaraoke widget for the Apple iPod, which lets you broadcast your dreadful caterwauling along with your favourite tunes to any radio, was won by Dafydd Pugh at Berrymans Lace Mawer with the following tale of ineptitude: 'The alarm bells should have rung when, on a boozy night out with some mates, one of them took a keen interest in the new mobile phone I had bought. It had the ability to record your own ring tone, a feature I was later to regret. The following day I was sent to attend a case management conference in Kingston Upon Thames County Court by my supervisor. Being a little hungover, I was already flustered, but most of the directions were agreed so it should have been a breeze. Mid-way through the conference this raucous laughter belted out across chambers. Thinking it was just someone outside, I ploughed on through the directions, trying to ignore the laugh that was becoming all too familiar. The horror of suddenly recognising my own laugh must have been visible because the district judge interrupted me and said, "Mr Pugh, your bag seems to find this very amusing - I do not."' Oh dear. We have been in touch with the other competition winners but have kept back one iTrip. Why? Because, frankly, most answers were just not embarrassing enough. So now you have another chance - email us with your finest law-related limerick, and you could win our last iTrip. But it had better be good.
