Solicitors and staff at Sheffield firm Watson Esam proved just how tough it can be to raise money for charity. For a week they swapped their habitually healthy diets of porridge, muesli and nuts in favour of… cake. They daringly devoured date and walnut, courageously munched their way through chocolate, battled their way through butterfly, struggled with shortbread, and braved the tangy delights of lemon drizzle. The firm underwent this punishing ordeal to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, as the mother of one of the firm’s legal secretaries has the condition. Practice manager Patricia Bint said: ‘I’m sure we all put on weight, but the muesli’s back and everyone’s now dropping off down the gym.’
