Lawyers are generally viewed as more cerebral than physical, so it came as no surprise to Obiter to hear from those in the know that football's London Legal League is not, as one might assume, solely populated by lawyers. Thankfully, ringers are routinely allowed otherwise the quality of the play would be very worrying. In fact, according to Obiter's sources, actually finding a qualified lawyer on the pitch in some matches is a struggle, as many of the teams are packed out with postroom staff (in the case of law firms) and barristers' clerks (in the case of chambers). Who comes off the worse? Apparently, the letter sorters are harder, with the clerks prepared to back off from a tackle for a fee and or 10% of a fee, joked our man on the inside.
