The big City practices could definitely learn a thing or two from Morecambe-based Wright & Lord about how to market a law firm on an international basis. Last year, the two-partner practice signed a shirt sponsorship deal with the local Nationwide Conference football team - 'the biggest such deal in the club's history' at a cost of around £15,000 a year. Two matches involving Morecambe have already been screened on Sky this season, with the brother of name partner Stephen Wright able to catch the game while in the French Alps. But that is not all - as well as offering a 10% discount on its services to season-ticket holders, the firm is also running a competition which could see one lucky fan win a 2005/06 season ticket and a much sought-after signed home shirt. All Shrimps fans need to do is to send a photo of the kit being worn in the 'most entertaining, far-flung, bizarre and ridiculous' situation. Already, there have been sightings in Switzerland, Cyprus, the US, France, and, er, Hull. Which, for those who hail from Lancashire, probably counts as another country.
