Lawyers are not known for distancing themselves from politics, but they do not always adopt such a collective stance as national trade union firm Thompsons, which has waltzed into the 'who should be Tory leader' debate with an interactive Web game (see www.thompsons.law.co.uk/dance/tory.html).
'Strictly Conservative Dancing' features the five original candidates jigging along to a selection of tracks, with 'Maggie T' on the decks showing that 'the Tories are still dancing to the same old tunes'. Users can manipulate the likes of Ken Clarke and Liam Fox through 'The Trade Union Stomp', 'The Sleaze', 'Party Split' and 'Flat-Tax Bop'. Anyone interested in seeing the candidates dancing 'The Minimum Wage', however, will be disappointed, as apparently 'the Tories don't do that'.
Thompsons' policy and public affairs director Tom Jones says: 'On the day that the Tories announce who will choose their next leader, the Tory dance shows that whoever elects the leader makes no difference - the five leadership contenders are all dancing to the same old Tory tunes.'
Power to the people!
